Les Étoiles Tombées

The Fallen Stars

They have fallen, but never extinguished,
Their voices echo through the ages, unending.
Lumumba, Sankara, Malcolm, Martin,
Their breath is the wind that makes us strong this morning.

Betrayed by hands trembling at their brilliance,
Cut down by chains they broke step by step.
They gave their lives so that we might walk,
So our steps could be free, so our hearts could be light.

These fallen stars, guides of our night,
Illuminated the path, transforming darkness into light.
Through their dreams, they sowed the seeds of a tomorrow,
A world where our children hold their heads high, at last.

Racism remains, a shadow that lingers,
But their light reminds us that there exists,
A strength within us, forged by their sacrifices,
A living hope, a future that rises.

To these brave souls, we owe our voice,
To their struggles, we owe our choice,
To walk freely, even under cold stares,
To hold the truth, to stand tall, kings and queens in our rights.
